Warrior

design no. 74: Warrior, the 63-ft Cape to Rio-winning yacht

Warrior is a 63-foot offshore racing yacht. Victories in the Cape to Rio and Mauritius to Durban races established her reputation as fast, capable, and exceptionally seaworthy.

Built to uncompromising offshore standards and professionally maintained, she remains in excellent condition. Below deck she is simple but comfortable, accommodating six guests and four crew. She is designed with one priority: to carry her crew safely and swiftly across oceans.

The design brief

A blend between beauty and performance.
Alex Simonis

Together with the owner we have been working on the design brief for this exciting concept where he wanted to see a blend between beauty and performance, combined with a certain standard of luxury regarded by him as essential for a yacht this size.

The first main regatta she is intended to enter is the 1996 Cape to Rio Race and although the yacht is not going to be specially built for this, it is going to be optimized in the design stage to a very high degree for this race with the aim to be able to take handicap honours.
